Sarah Gibbens is an experienced Registered Nurse and Clinical Nurse Specialist in Geriatrics. She worked as a Geriatric Emergency Management (GEM) Nurse for almost 8 years at Northumberland Hills Hospital in Cobourg, On., where she provided geriatric best practices in assessment and management of older adults and their caregivers in the emergency department.
Sarah is now currently the Knowledge to Practice Specialist for the Regional Geriatric Programs of Ontario Senior Friendly Caregiver Education Project. In this role, Sarah is tasked with leading and supporting the creation of educational resources for family member and friend caregivers of a senior living with frailty.
She is currently pursuing her PhD in the Aging and Health Program at Queen’s University and is an interdisciplinary fellow of the Canadian Frailty Network.
