Olive Bryanton is a long-time advocate for older adults and a lifelong learner. Her advocacy for older adults earned her an Honorary Degree from the University of Prince Edward Island in 2000, and the Queen Elisabeth ll’s Diamond Jubilee Medal from the Hon. Alice Wong Minister of State (Seniors) in 2012. As a life-long learner Bryanton obtained her M.Ed. in 2009 and her Ph.D. in 2019 from the University of Prince Edward. As a researcher Bryanton believes that older adults must be recognized as integral to all aspects of our society and should be involved in any research that could impact their lives. As an older adult herself, Bryanton aspires to negate ageism, and to validate older adults and their aspirations.
